According to the ECO Cultural Institute, every year the Institute marks the auspicious Nowruz, the common cultural heritage of the ECO member countries, at its Headquarters in Tehran. This year, the celebration was held in partnership with the Secretariat of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

At the event, Murodjon Buriboev, the President of ECO Cultural Institute, said: “One of the key functions of the ancient and mysterious festival of Nowruz is creation of solidarity between different levels of society. Ritual beliefs and practices in Nowruz traditions are filled with elements that create love and reconciliation. The uniting flag of Nowruz, at the beginning of every spring and along with the awakening of nature, is raised above the vast lands of Nowruz, and the heartwarming message of peace and friendship resonates in the ears of the world and revives the best feelings in the hearts.

The President of ECO Cultural Institute added, "This lasting heritage includes customs and rituals that have lived in the hearts of societies since the start of history till today and have become an integral part of the national identity and culture of countries. The historical continuity of Nowruz has caused it to mix with various ideas, principles and perspectives over time and to pass a set of fundamental cultural elements from the passage of history to our times."
