The Ancient Iranian carving which had been discovered in a UK airport seven years ago has returned to Iran. In a statement, Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism of Iran announced on Wednesday that the carving has been regained with the joint efforts of the ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran. The Sasanian rock relief, which was being smuggled into the UK but was discovered by the police at London Stansted Airport, will be put on display in the National Museum of Iran. The carving is estimated to be worth more than £30 million ($37 million). ECI reports, citing IRNA.
