Joint statement on 3rd D-8 Ministerial Meeting on Tourism
The Member States of the Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) - whose three main members include Pakistan, Turkey and Iran- agreed to rejig the tourism sector in their countries with a view to enhance cooperation further and promote sustainable development. This joint statement was made during the just–concluded Fourth Senior Officials and Third Ministerial meetings on Tourism held in Bhurban, Pakistan from 3–5 August 2023. The meetings had in attendance Ministers in charge of tourism and other senior officials from D-8 Member Countries.
The Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation is an inter-governmental organization comprised of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Türkiye. The Organization was founded by the Heads of State and Governments of those eight countries in 1997.
