Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov met with Juan Laporta, president of the Spanish Barcelona football club.
According to the Kyrgyz National News Agency, the president said during the meeting: "The arrival of a century-old club in Kyrgyzstan is a great honor for all the people of Kyrgyzstan." He emphasized that the opening of the first Barcelona Academy in the Kyrgyz Republic will create opportunities for the professional development of the national team and will also have a positive impact on the development of tourism, sports, investment and other sectors of this country.
Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona, for his part, noted that Barcelona promotes its principles, values and style of play in various sports and thanked Sadir Dzaparov for supporting the initiative to improve the experience of a sports organization in Central Asia.
