The "Yalda night ceremony" was held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the ECO Cultural Institute with the attendance of cultural and artistic educated.
According to the media department of the ECO Cultural Institute, in this ceremony Dr. Saad Khan, the President of the ECI, congratulated on this auspicious night, called Yalda "the night of brightness sunrise", and said that the universality of the Yalda night in the ECO region is an important factor and motivation in the necessity of celebrating this night. Dr. Saad Khan added: we see traditionally in this night most valuable behaviours such as visiting elders, reciting Hafez, eating sweets, and collective joy, which are considered lasting values. The President of ECO Cultural Institute emphasized that one of the important duties of the institute is to protect the ancient customs and traditions of ECO region.
In the continuation of this cultural, artistic and literary event, poets from the ECO region - including Alireza Qazwe (Iran), Ali Madadi Rezvani (Afghanistan), Ahmad Shahryar (Pakistan) and Shah Mansour Shah Mirza (Tajikistan) - read poems on the subject of Yalda.
In this celebration, the "Dang-dang Koban" music group created an artistic and enjoyable moments by unveiling several pieces of music.
It should be mentioned that the guests also visited the exhibition of handicrafts and visual arts related to Yalda at the end of the celebration.
