President of the ECO Cultural Institute, H.E. Dr Saad Khan and the Director General of the Tehran Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre, Dr Atusa Momeni, held a meeting recently at the ICH Centre to explore opportunities for joint cooperation between the two organizations.
During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy in promoting peace and sustainable development in the region and identified intangible cultural heritage as a powerful tool for achieving unity in diversity. They also recognized the need to safeguard and promote instances of intangible cultural heritage, such as food, language, music, and dress code, which are vulnerable to the growing trend of cultural unification. The meeting concluded with decisions to hold joint training workshops and seminars and to further cooperation between the two institutions.
