World Youth Swimming Record Broken
Turkish national swimmer Merve Tuncel broke the world junior short track record in 1500m women freestyle with 15:45.29 in Istanbul.

 Turkish national swimmer Merve Tuncel broke the world record 1500m women freestyle with 15: 45.29 in the Interclub Junior and Open Aged Short Track Turkey Swimming Championship.

The Turkish Swimming Federation announced that Merve Tuncel set a new world youth record in the Interclub Junior and Open Aged Short Distance Swimming Competition in Istanbul.

Merve Tuncel thus surpassed the world record of the Australian Chelsea Gubka, which was achieved in 2013 with a score of 15: 54.69.

Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet M. Kasapoğlu congratulated Merve Tuncel.
