President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with the players of the Turkish National Football Team and congratulated them for defeating the Netherlands 4-2 in the first match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute quoting Turkish Presidential Communication Center, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke with the players and the team's coach, Şenol Güneş, via the mobile phone of Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu, who met with the players after the game in the locker room. During the call, Turkish Football Federation President Nihat Özdemir accompanied the players.
