Tajikistan and WHO to Promote Cooperation
Deputy of Tajikistan’s Finance Minister meets with the head of the World Health Organization office (WHO) in Tajikistan.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting Fars News Agency in Dushanbe, Yusuf Majidi, Tajik Finance Minister Deputy and Victor Olsefsky, WHO Chief of Staff, met in Tajikistan.
While expressing interest to strengthen cooperation to improve healthcare quality in Tajikistan, the two sides discussed the development of a new national health strategy compliance with the basic requirements for health care financing.
“The World Bank was allocating over $21.1m to Tajikistan to vaccinate priority groups”, Tajikistan’s first Finance Minister Deputy Jamshid Karimzoda said in news conference. 
“This will lead to more internationally approved vaccines being purchased and imported into the country,” he added.
So far, some health workers, as well as professors and staff at Tajikistan’s educational institutions, have been vaccinated.
