Central Asia’s Future Stars Embark on Dushanbe for CAFA U17 Women’s Championship
Women’s football continues its post-pandemic return this week, with four of Central Asia’s U17 women’s national teams set to compete for the CAFA U17 Women’s Championship.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting ILNA, Uzbekistan, Islamic Republic of Iran and Afghanistan have arrived to compete alongside Tajikistan in the nation’s capital, which successfully held the region’s U20 women’s championship last month.
With all matches to be held at Central Republican Stadium, the action begins with a clash between Iran and Afghanistan on Saturday afternoon, before neighbors Uzbekistan and Tajikistan face off in the evening’s late match.
The tournament will continue on a round-robin basis, with the final match between Tajikistan and Iran to close out the schedule on Wednesday.
