Turkey Marks Tajik Language Day

Tajik Language Day
At the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Republic of Turkey, an international conference "Language, the Connector of Nations" was held at the Institute of Strategic Thinking (SDE) in Ankara.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, the conference began with the opening remarks of H.E. Ashrafjon Gulov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkey.
In his speech, the Tajik Ambassador to Turkey examined the history of the Tajik language, the works of prominent Tajik dignitaries, the position of Tajik language in the international arena, and the role of Tajik President, H.E. Emomali Rakhmon in the growth and development of language.
During the conference, Heliye Kaspoglu, a professor at Ankara University, described the contributions which Persian and Tajik thinkers, including Rudaki, Ferdowsi, Rumi, and Jami made to inform the international communities and recited some of their poems in Tajik. Dr. Saifuddin Nazarzoda and Dr. Mirzo Hassan Sultan, professors from The Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, also gave virtual lectures.
Another speaker, Amit Bashar, a professor at Ankara University, spoke about the position of Tajik language in Turkey.
At the end of the conference, works by Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon, including his book, "Tajiks in the Mirror of History," were displayed.
The conference was held to mark Tajik Language Day, which is celebrated every year on October 5 in Tajikistan.
