ECO Cultural Institute with the aim of introducing contemporary Iranian poets across borders, will hold the unveiling of the book "I Begin with You (A Selection of Modern Poetry of Iran)" and the opening of a photo exhibition of contemporary Iranian poets on Thursday, November 18, 1400 at 17:00.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, the unveiling ceremony of the book "I Begin with You, (A Selection of Modern Poetry of Iran)" and the opening of the photo exhibition of 50 contemporary Iranian poets, will be held on Thursday, November 18, 1400 at 17:00 at the Diplomatic Gallery and International Conference Hall of the ECO Cultural Institute.
Sarvar Bakhti, President of the ECO Cultural Institute; Dr. Ashraf Boroujerdi, Head of the National Library and Archives of Iran; Dr. Fatemeh Rakaei, poet and researcher and head of the Iranian Poets Society; Dr. Alireza Ghazveh, poet and researcher and head of the Institute of Persian Poets; Dr. Habibi, Director of Radio Farhang; Dr. Saeedeh Hosseinjani, Director of the Translation Center of the Islamic Propaganda Organization; and Dr. Susan Poursanati, professor of Allameh Tabatabai University will discuss the position of Persian literature and the importance of translation in the world literature. Also Iranian renowned poets-scholars and researchers including Abdul Jabbar Kakai, Afshin Ala, Saed Bagheri, Soheili Mahmoodi, and Mehdi Mozaffari Savoji will elaborate the stance of literature in the world and read pieces of their poems.
In the program, which will be attended by organizations such as the National Archives and Library of Iran, the Iranian Poets Association, the Islamic Propaganda Organization, Allameh Tabatabai University, the Directorate General of Cultural Exchanges and International Organizations of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Communication, Bookball, The Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) and Radio Farhang, the dual language book "I Begin with You (A Selection of Modern poetry of Iran)", compiled and translated into English by Dr. Nastaran Nosratzadegan, translator and university professor will be unveiled.
The book which is published by the ECO Cultural Institute introduces 50 contemporary poets from Nima Yushij, the father of modern Persian poetry to date as well as translating some of their poems.
In this ceremony, a photo exhibition of 50 contemporary poets along with a brief biography of them will be opened in the Diplomatic Gallery of the ECO Cultural Institute.
Also, Konj band led by Master Alireza Zarkaar will perform live.
It should be mentioned that the ceremony, will be aired live on Radio Farhang.
