Tajikistan Celebrates Sada Festival
On the occasion of the Sada Celebration and the Thanksgiving for the abundance of agricultural products, the people of Bokhtar, the capital of Khatlon province, cooked curds in a 136 cm plate.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting Voice of Khorasan, in the framework of this celebration, an exhibition and sale of agricultural products and machinery was also held.
Ghurbon Hakimzoda, the Head of Khatlon province, announced at the ceremony: “In 2020, the farmers of this region will receive 985 thousand tons of wheat, 278 thousand tons of cotton, 1 million and 71 thousand tons of vegetables, 202 thousand tons of fruits, 355 thousand tons of onions, 193 thousand tons of potatoes and harvested 1,07 tons of grapes worth 16 billion and 285 million Somoni.”
Hakimzoda added: “Also, in 2020, 108,000 tons of various agricultural products were exported from Khatlon province, including onions, walnuts, dried fruits, vegetables and lemons.”
In Tajikistan, according to a tradition, 50 days before the Nowruz celebration, the Sada ritual is held with the aim of giving thanks for the harvest of agricultural products.
