More than 70% of Tajikistan’s population is under the age of 35, said Tajik president.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting Fars News Agency in Dushanbe, on the occasion of Youth Day, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met with some of his country’s youth.
Tajik President, in the meeting, said: “According to the UN Population Fund, Tajikistan is one of the youngest countries with an average age of 22.5 years”.
“Statistics show that over 70% of the population of Tajikistan is young people aged under 35, which requires to take measures to educate and develop mental and physical abilities of the young generation”, he added.
