Turkey’s Troy, Odunpazarı Museums Receive Prestigious EMYA Awards
Turkey’s famous Troy Museum and Odunpazarı Modern Museum (OMM) were presented with special commendations at the European Museum of the Year Awards (EMYA) online ceremony which was held on May 6, 2021. Organized by the European Museum Forum and hosted by the Yeltsin Center in Russia, candidates from 2020 and 2021 were presented with awards at the ceremony.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute; the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced in a message on Twitter that the “European Museum of the Year Awards” is one of the longest-running awards in the museum sector and is organized by the European Museum Forum.
In this competition, which was not held last year due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the names of museums that are worthy of receiving awards in 2020 and 2021 were announced online last night on YouTube.
In this context, the Troy Museum and the Modern Museum of Odunpazari in Eskişehir also received “European Museum of the Year Awards”, the former for 2020 and the latter for 2021.
Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum also received the “2021 Silletto” award at the competition.
