Turkish Athletes Win 2 Gold, 1 Bronze at European Karate Championships
Turkish national athletes clinched two gold and one bronze medals in the 55th European Karate Championships.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute quoting Turkish Karate Federation, the national team won two gold and one bronze medals in the 55th European Karate Championship in Porec, Croatia.
In women’s 68kg final, Meltem Hocaoğlu competed with Alexandra Stoblova and won the gold medal with a 1-0 victory over her Bulgarian opponent.
Uğur Aktaş also defeated his Azerbaijani opponent Panah Abdullayev 2-1 in the 84kg final of men’s team committee of the competition and won the gold medal.
Eda Eltemur, another Turkish national karateka, also won the bronze medal in the 68kg weight by defeating Ivana Javar from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the women’s team committee.
