Referring to the fact that three out of the 26 Iranian cultural heritages registered in UNESCO are from Mazandaran, the Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts said: “Mazandaran has unique natural and historical attractions and is also a perfect example of the Islamic country of Iran considering its rituals and diverse cultures.”
Ezzatollah Zarghami added: “The Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts is looking for the global registration of Arsbaran forests in Azerbaijan in the World Heritage List to expand tourism relations.” He emphasized that Mazandaran's eco-tourism is “wonderful”, and has no end. He stated: “Considering these capacities, eco-tourism facilities should be developed in this province.”
Zarghami mentioned the development of ecotourism as one of the Iranian government's policies in the field of tourism and continued: “We are looking to introduce and identify the capacities of ecotourism through the use of media.”
The Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts said: “This year, offering low-cost facilities for tourism activists has been taken into consideration. This can result in economic prosperity, employment, and the development of handicrafts industry.”
Explaining that Iran is active in 239 categories of handicrafts industry, he added: “Mazandaran represents a significant part of Iran's handicrafts industry.”
Zarghami said that during the period when the world is suffering from war, tourism can create sustainable peace and reconciliation among the nations. He stated: “If tourism industry is strengthened, the message of peace and peaceful life among nations will come along and the world will be a peaceful place to live, in the shadow of global peace and stability of security.”
In an interview, The Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts also referred to the tsunami of travels after the coronavirus pandemic subsided, and said: “Marine tourism, ecotourism, offering low-cost services, and employment are the most diverse parts of the tourism sector.”
Zarghami emphasized: “All the vessels will soon receive subsidized fuel in order to develop marine tourism.”
He said: “The main challenge in a country that has countless tourism advantages is to align and have a realistic viewpoint on the issue of tourism.”
He pointed out the need for the management of the coasts and investment in this sector and added: “We are developing a protocol to attract investors in the marine sector.”
The Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts noted: “Sanctions have not been very effective in the development of tourism and satisfactory plans have been implemented in the ministry to eliminate Iranophobia.”
Zarghami mentioned the facilitation of the issuance of visas for ECO member countries and continued: “After consultations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government, the issuance of visas has been resumed.”
