Speech by Ayatollah Mohammad Bagher Mohammadi Laini, Representative of the Supreme Leader in Mazandaran at Sari 2022 event
Referring to Mazandarani people’s love for culture, the representative of the Supreme Leader in Mazandaran said: “The cultural, moral and spiritual atmosphere of Mazandaran province is favorable for attracting tourists.” Pointing out the goals for establishing the Economic Cooperation Organization, he stated the expansion of the atmosphere of love and friendship between countries as one of its other goals, and said: “Also, the spirit of brotherhood and religion in addition to cultural commonalities should be strengthened as a factor for expanding cooperation in various fields of tourism, industries, and economy.”
He alluded to the strengthening of friendly relations as one of the goals and said: “If the moral and cultural atmosphere of the target community is not favorable, it will discourage tourists. This is while Mazandaran is very advantageous from the cultural, moral, religious and spiritual points of view.”
Referring to the people of the region’s love for culture, the representative of the Iranian Supreme Leader said: “There are many historical monuments in Mazandaran, which should be recognized.”
Mohammadi Laini pointed out handicrafts and local customs and traditions as the eminent properties of the people of Mazandaran and said: “In terms of morals, the people of Mazandaran are honorable, hospitable, friendly, and honest. They dedicated 10,400 martyrs and 34,000 veterans. Moreover, 2,361 Mazandarani soldiers were kept prisoners during the Iran-Iraq war. They are the spiritual and social wealth of our nation.”
Addressing that more than 14,000 seminaries from Mazandaran are studying in different cities, he said: “The general spiritual, moral and religious atmosphere of Mazandaran is optimal and desirable.”
