Essentially, marquetry is an art based on assembling small, precisely cut pieces of various materials, such as wood, tile, metal, shell, stone, or colored glass, to create orderly patterns or pictorial designs. "موهنجودارو" یکی از مهمترین و شگفتانگیزترین شهرهای باستانی جهان است که در جنوب پاکستان امروزی و در ایالت سِند، در نزدیکی رود سِند (Indus) قرار دارد. نام موهنجودارو در زبان سندی به معنای "تپهٔ مردگان" است. شهر باستانی موهنجودارو یکی از مهمترین مراکز تمدن درهٔ سند و از برجستهترین نمونههای شهرنشینی اولیه در جهان بهشمار میرود. این شهر پنج هزار ساله از تمدن هاراپا از نظر برنامهریزی شهری، سیستم بهداشت، معماری و سازمان اجتماعی در سطحی بسیار پیشرفته قرار داشته است.

Haftseen is an arrangement and a table consisting of seven symbolic elements representing different aspects of life and well-being, whose names begin with the Persian letter "Seen" (س) it is traditionally arranged during Nowruz, the Solar New Year. Haftseen is one of the most well-known Nowruz rituals and is set either on the floor or on a table. Below, each of these items is explained. In Iran, the Haftseen table usually remains in homes until the end of Nowruz, and some people, on the thirteenth day of Nowruz, place the sprouted greens (sabzeh) and the fish into running water.

هفتسین، سفره و یا میزی متشکل از هفت عنصر نمادین است که از طبیعت گرفته شده و نام آنها با حرف "سین" آغاز میشود و بهطور سنتی در ایام نوروز و سال نو خورشیدی چیده میشود. هفتسین از مشهورترین مراسم نوروز است که روی زمین یا میز چیده میشود. در ادامه درخصوص هر یک از این اقلام صحبت خواهد شد. در ایران، میز هفتسین معمولاً تا پایانِ نوروز در خانهها میماند، و برخی در روز سیزدهمِ نوروز، سبزه و ماهی را به آب میسپارند.
